William Simons serves as editor for baseball anthology

William Simons, Professor, History Department, is the editor of a recently published anthology, The Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture, 2017-2018. Contributors include Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress; Evan Caminker, former Dean, University of Michigan Law School; and sports journalist Brian Kenny, recipient of an Emmy Award. Six topics—“The Women’s Game,” “Numbers, Analytics, and Validations,” “Baseball Outliers: Radical Jews, Mayans, Affirmative Action, and Prisoners,” “Other Robinsons: Jackie as Republican and Writer,” “Road Trips: The Global Game,” and “The Arts: Poetry and Sculpture”—form the conceptual structure of the book
