W-2 forms to be sent out, new online availability


The Office of the State Comptroller will again be sending W-2 forms directly to employees’ home addresses or the address that is listed on your check or direct deposit form, if it is different than your home address. IRS requires that all W-2s must be mailed out by January 31, 2019, but we expect that they will be mailed sooner.  Please note: the December 26, 2018 check was the last paycheck issued for the 2018 tax year; employees should retain this paycheck as it contains valuable year-to-date information.

NEW ONLINE AVAILABILITY:  Employees can now opt out of receiving a paper W-2 form!  To do so, log-in to the SUNY Portal (www.suny.edu/hrportal).  Click on the NYS Payroll Online icon and then select “Go Paperless.” The next screen offers the ability to opt out of paper paystubs and/or paper W-2 forms.  Similar to having the ability to view a paycheck online, W-2 forms (when available) will be viewable in the NYS Payroll Online portal.
