Deadline approaching for Research & Creative Activity student grants

Student Grant Program for Research & Creative Activity

The “Traditional” Track of the Student Grant Program for Research & Creative Activity (CA) provides funding of up to $1,500 for project expenses (plus student and faculty stipends) for independent research/CA projects conducted by students with faculty sponsorship.

The “Shadowing” Track is intended to broaden student engagement in research/CA, whereby a student with little-to-no experience (freshman/sophomore/first year transfer) joins a faculty member’s research/CA endeavor as an “observer” or a junior team member. Budgets can include up to $500 for project expenses, plus stipends for both the faculty mentor and the ‘shadow’ student.

The “Classroom-based” Track supports activities that expose students to the breadth, depth, and application of scholarly/creative activity. Faculty can apply for funding of up to $1,000 for a variety of activities that would enhance the research/CA element of a course.

Guidelines and application instructions for the fall 2018 round of the Student Grant Program are available on the Committee on Research website. The application deadline is Monday, October 29 at 11:59 pm.

This program is funded by the College at Oneonta Foundation and the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association, and an award from the Strategic Allocation of Resources (StAR) program.
