The Catskill Area School Study Council, a partnership of SUNY Oneonta and area schools, is looking for volunteers to support a community outreach program to promote early college and career awareness. We are working with DCMO BOCES as well as SUNY Oneonta Admissions, Career Development Center, Science Discovery Center and multiple faculty members. We are hoping to bring about 400 students on campus to explore various careers and explore what the college has to offer- think FUTURE STUDENTS!
What: Two (2) 30-minute Interactive sessions/ presentations (12:15- 12:45 and 1:00-1:30) to approximately 20-30 eighth grade students per session.
Who: 400 eighth graders from the local DCMO and ONC BOCES region- 41 schools!
When: Tuesday, October 9, 2018
Where: SUNY Oneonta
- Provide 8th grade students with a sense of the college experience/ opportunities at SUNY Oneonta in a specific department or career field
- Create enthusiasm and personal connections for students to college (at SUNY Oneonta!)
- Students will begin to link interests, abilities and choices to a career field.
