Student SCUBA divers featured in Bulletin of American Meteorological Society

SUNY Oneonta students and Biological Field Station Volunteer Dive Team members Maggie Doolin (MS Biology 2018, Reyda Lab; starting Ph.D. in fall 2018) and Sarah Coney (BS Biology 2017; starting MS Biology in Fall 2018, Lord/Stich Lab) were featured in “Synoptics: AMS Community Snapshots” of the June 2018 issue of the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (BAMS).

BAMS is the flagship journal of the American Meteorological Society (AMS). Doolin and Coney were working on the above water weather station and underwater sensors attached to the Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network (GLEON) lake data buoy on Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, operated by Paul Lord and Kiyoko Yokota of Biology Department.

Special thanks to Wayne Bunn of Town of Otsego, a long-time community volunteer for the BFS Volunteer Dive Team, for sharing the original photo with us and then with AMS. https://twitter.com/YokotaLimnoLab/status/1021454949744611328 Real-time data for select weather and water quality parameters are available at http://employees.oneonta.edu/yokotak/YokotaLimnoLab/ .
