Bill Simons, Nancy Cannon participate in Cooperstown Symposium

William Simons, professor of history, and Nancy Cannon, technology librarian emeritus, both participated in the 30th annual edition of the Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture. An academic conference co-sponsored by SUNY Oneonta and the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the 2018 Symposium took place at the Hall of Fame  in Cooperstown, New York, from May 30-June 1, 2018.

Ms. Cannon moderated presentations on The Giamatti Bench: A Conversation Piece by Mark Aronson (Yale University) and The American Industrial Revolution and the Professionalization of Baseball and Art: “Something new starts every day” by Virginia Skinner-Linnenberg (Nazareth College) and Daniel Linnenberg (University of Rochester). Dr. Simons served as symposium co-director.
