Gina Keel attends environmental policy and education conferences

Dr. Gina Keel (Political Science) attended two conferences in Washington D.C. January 22-25, 2018 – the National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment, and the Energy Education Summit, both hosted by the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE), which brings together scientists, educators and policymakers.

Keel presented a poster, “Advancing Interdisciplinary Systems Learning through an Undergraduate Energy Science and Policy Course” and discussed curricular and workface development innovations with academic and practitioner colleagues.

Dr. Keel attended training workshops on ecoservices education using EPA’s EnviroAtlas and transdisciplinary collaboration for teaching, research and community projects. She listened to climate change and infrastructure policy updates from the Ambassadors of Costa Rica and France, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and contributors to the National Climate Assessment, as well as future-oriented sustainable infrastructure, energy and education discussions with speakers including Professor David Orr and Journalist Frank Sesno.
