Tyra A. Olstad publishes book chapter

Tyra A. Olstad, Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability, published a chapter in the book “Explorations in Place Attachment”, edited by Jeffrey Smith (Routledge, 2018). Emphasizing the role that geography plays in any place-based inquiry, the book “seeks to understand the interactive and reinforcing qualities between people and places” (https://www.routledge.com/Explorations-in-Place-Attachment/Smith/p/book/9781138729742 ). Olstad’s contribution, titled “Visitor Perception, Place Attachment, and Wilderness Management in the Adirondack High Peaks” discusses ways by which individuals’ expectations for and experiences in wild places can challenge, be challenged by, and contribute to public land management.
