State Employees – Changes to Enrollment and Management of 403b Voluntary Retirement Savings Accounts

Recently all NYS employees were sent a letter from SUNY University-Wide Benefits Administration regarding the implementation of a new on-line retirement management system, Retirement@Work, that is schedule to be implemented effective November 3, 2017. To enroll, choose investment providers, and designate amount of payroll deductions, all employees will be required to access Retirement@Work online. No paper forms will be accepted.

To transition from paper-based system to online system, a “black out” period has been scheduled from October 25, 2017 to November 03, 2017. As a result, October 20, 2017 is the last day Human Resources can accept a paper Salary Reduction Agreement to enter/change an employee’s 403b payroll deduction.

This new SUNY on-line process will NOT impact an employee’s ability to enroll or make changes to their NYS Deferred Compensation Plan (457b).
