SUNY Oneonta Masters student wins award

M.S. Student Maggie Doolin was awarded a “meritorious student paper award” at the 92nd Annual Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists in San Antonio, Texas, last week. Maggie presented the results of her research on the thorny-headed worms (acanthocephalans) of fishes that she and her advisor Florian Reyda (Biology Department and Biological Field Station) have collected in the Northeast and elsewhere in the USA. It is also noted that former SUNY Oneonta student Kaylee Herzog (Class of ’14) who worked with Reyda before attending graduate school at the University of Kansas, won the award for “outstanding student paper” for her presentation on her work on tapeworms.
