The annual distribution of NYS Local & Employee Retirement System (NYSLRS) Member Annual Statements is expected to begin mid-May and continue through mid-July. Beginning this year, the Statements will be mailed directly from NYSLRS to the home address on file with NYSLRS for each member.
To ensure you receive your personal Statement and other NYSLRS correspondence, you need to keep your address up to date with NYSLRS. You can do so quickly and easily by using Retirement Online, NYSLRS’s new self-service tool. Retirement Online is a convenient and secure way for you to review your NYSLRS benefits and conduct transactions such as changing contact information, updating beneficiaries or applying for loans. Professor Gustavo Arango (Foreing Languages and Literatures was included in the anthology 20 Narradores Colombianos en USA (20 Colombian Writers in USA), edited in Bogotá , Colombia, by Eduardo Marceles Daconte, and published by Collage Editores. The anthology includes professor Arango’s short story “Confieso que he matado” (I Confess That I Have Killed).
Ivy Colon, Access to College Excellence (ACE) Counselor with the Office of Special Programs, received the Community Advancement & Service Award from the Latin@/x Network at the ACPA College Student Educators International conference held in Columbus, Ohio, March 2017. The award is given to an outstanding practitioner in the field of Student Affairs who has made significant contributions to the Latin@/x community on their campus or in the greater community.
