Sustainable Susquehanna Faculty Development Workshop Participants Selected

Nine faculty members have been selected to participate in this year’s Sustainable Susquehanna Faculty Development Workshop from May 17-18that College Camp. The facilitators for this year’s workshop are Gina Keel and Tyra Olstad.  The workshop focuses on integrating sustainability across the curriculum through course revision or new course development. The faculty members who participate in the workshop receive an honorarium upon completion of a new or revised syllabus, with the intent to teach the course within three semesters.  Faculty from diverse teaching backgrounds across campus have received training through this workshop over the past several years.

The workshop was developed with roots in in the Piedmont Project at Emory University and has been endorsed by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). The following faculty have been selected  to participate in the workshop this year:

Anthropology students present exhibit on dogs and humans

The students of ANTH 312 Exhibiting Cultures in Museums invite you to the opening of their exhibit, “DOGS! Anthropology on 4 Legs” on Friday, May 5, 6:30 to 8pm in the Anthropology Teaching Gallery.

The exhibit, which is their culminating project for the semester, features displays on the (co)evolution of humans and dogs, dogs in prehistory, and dogs in/and human culture. There will be brief presentations by students as well as human and canine visitors from the Susquehanna Animal Shelter and Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
