SUNY Oneonta has teamed up with the OneLove Foundation to bring a relationship violence awareness event to campus. This event, Yards for Yeardley, is dedicated to the memory of UVA Lacrosse player Yeardley Love who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend in 2010.
There is no cost, we simply want you to track your yards walked or run on campus through Thursday, April 20th.
We have a goal of 10 million yards, can you help us get there?
You can download a tracking form here. Print it out and keep track of your travel across campus and we can fill in the distance for you or you can write in the distance collected by a fitness trakcer and we can convert to yards for you. Numerous drop boxes will be located across campus to collect forms. Please drop them off by the end of the day on Thursday.
Also, on Thursday April 20th come to Red Dragon Field between 9am and 5pm and walk the field and get raffle tickets for prizes. Our Athletics Department has a full day of fun activities scheduled. You can also interact with our local community resources that support survivors of sexual and relationship violence.
Also, on Thursday, April 20th the know violence will be sponsoring its fourth annual shirt day.
- If you picked up a shirt ticket make sure to complete your shirt registration here.
- If you did not get a shirt you can reserve one of the remaining shirts here.
- If you have a shirt, wear it on April 20th and tell us about it using #knowviolenceOneonta
