APRIL FORD WINS THE SIMPHIWE HLATSWAYO AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR

Dr. James E. Mackin, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, is pleased to announce that April Ford, Adjunct Professor in the English Department, has won the Simphiwe Hlatswayo Award for Outstanding Part-time Instructor. This award comes with a $500 cash prize and was created by the College Senate to recognize outstanding adjunct instructors as well as to encourage excellence in teaching.  The award was named to honor the memory of Simphiwe Hlatswayo, who was a graduate of SUNY Oneonta from South Africa and taught at SUNY Oneonta first as an adjunct, then later as an assistant professor. Ms. Ford will be receiving her award during the remarks at the beginning of the Susan Sutton Smith Lecture on Tuesday, April 11 at 7 pm in the Otsego Grille, Morris Conference Center.
