Akira Yatsuhashi Gives a Talk at Tufts University

On November 15th, Akira Yatsuhashi, English, gave a talk entitled, “Nishiwaki Junzaburō’s Ambarvalia: Imagining a Classical World through a Modernist Lens,” at the invitation of Tufts University’s Classics department.  The talk reassessed the translatory work of one of Japan’s foremost Modernist poets and theorists, Nishiwaki, whose first major poetic collection had a classical focus with translations of the Roman poets, Catullus and Tibullus.
