Dr. Florian Reyda has article published

Dr. Florian Reyda, Associate Professor and Researcher, Biology Department and Biological Field Station, recently published an article entitled “Two new and one redescribed species of Acanthobothrium (Cestoda: Onchoproteocephalidea: Onchobothriidae) from Dasyatis akajei (Myliobatiformes: Dasyatidae) in the China Sea. ” It was published in the September 20th issue of the zoological journal, Zootaxa.

In the article, Reyda and several Chinese and Japanese coauthors describe two new species of tapeworms from Chinese coastal stingrays, as well as redescribe a third species, using morphological data obtained from light- and scanning electron microscopy. This work contributes to a growing body of knowledge of the biological diversity of tapeworms, a research area in which Reyda and numerous SUNY Oneonta undergraduate students are continuing to work.
