Student Grant Program: Drop-in Q&A Sessions – Thursday (today) 10/13 from 7–8:30 pm and Friday 10/14 from 8:30–10:30 am (International Lounge). The Student Grant Program for Research and Creative Activity provides funding for independent research and creative activity projects conducted by students with faculty sponsorship. Guidelines and application materials for the Fall 2016 round of the Student Grant Program are available on the Research Committee website. The application deadline is Monday 11/14 at 5:00 pm. Two Drop-in/Q&A Sessions for students (and interested faculty) with Research Committee members will be held in Hunt Union’s International Lounge on Thursday 10/13 from 7:00–8:30 p.m. and Friday 10/14 from 8:30–10:30 a.m. Refreshments will be available. Encourage your students to consider this program and to drop by the information sessions.
Life of the Mind (LOTM) VII Faculty Showcase – Abstract Deadline Extended to Wednesday 10/19. The LOTM Faculty Showcase will be held in Morris Conference Center over two consecutive days: Wednesday 11/ 9 (noon to 5:00 pm) AND Thursday 11/10 (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm, followed by the Community of Scholars reception). Whether you have presented at a recent conference or otherwise exhibited your work, or have a project in progress or just getting underway, consider sharing your work at the LOTM Showcase. (Faculty may contribute more than one presentation.) The event will also include a “SUNY Oneonta Faculty Publications Exhibit” (a display area for books or other publications not suitable for a poster/computer presentation; limited to those published in the last two years). The deadline for online submission of presentation information has been extended to Wednesday 10/19; visit http://www.oneonta.edu/academics/lotm/ to complete the Abstract Submission Form. Faculty who wish to display a book(s) or other publication(s) must also submit information via the online form; however, abstracts are not required. The TLTC will again provide large format poster printing services for the LOTM Showcase (10/24 submission deadline for poster printing), and GDO staff can help facilitate a variety of presentation formats.
Faculty Research/Creative Activity Grant Program – Application Deadline is 10/24. The Grants Development Office is pleased to announce a second round of research and creative activity project funding through the 2016-2017 Faculty/Professional Staff Research Grant Program. Applicants may request up to $3,500 for the funding period ending June 30, 2017 (projects may continue past this period), to be used to cover costs associated with the proposed research or creative activity, such as necessary travel, supplies, student assistants, etc. The application deadline for Round II is 5:00 p.m. on Monday 10/24.
