Red Dragon Reading Series Presents Charlotte Zoë Walker

Red Dragon Reading Series will host Charlotte Zoë Walker, Wednesday, October 5, at 7:30 pm in Craven Lounge, Morris Conference Center.

Walker is the editor of two books on naturalist John Burroughs for Syracuse University Press: Sharp Eyes and The Art of Seeing Things., and directed the first two Sharp Eyes Conferences at SUNY Oneonta, where she taught for many years.  A former NEA Creative Writing Fellow and O. Henry Award winner, she has recently released a thirtieth anniversary edition of her novel Condor and Hummingbird, set in Colombia in the 1960’s.   Condor and Hummingbird was first published by Alice Walker’s Wild Trees Press in 1986, and in England  by The Women’s Press. Alice Walker described it as “a compelling and passionate novel about a woman’s discovery that the most foreign country is within.”

REMINDER – Grants Information Sessions – Wednesday and Thursday!

The Grants Development Office is offering a Navigating Internal and External Grants at SUNY Oneonta information session to provide guidance on how to find and apply for funding for research and creative activity projects and programmatic initiatives, including an overview of policies and responsibilities. There will be two opportunities to attend – on Wednesday, September 21 from 3-4 p.m. and on Thursday, September 22 from 9-10 a.m. Both sessions will be held in Room 130 of Morris Conference Center.
