Life of the Mind VII Faculty Showcase – CALL FOR PRESENTERS

The Life of the Mind (LOTM) Faculty Showcase spotlights the research and scholarship, creative activity, teaching, service, and varied integrated contributions made by our faculty to the intellectual life of the campus community and beyond. This year’s showcase will be held in Craven Lounge, Morris Conference Center over two consecutive days: Wednesday, November 9 from noon to 5:00 p.m. AND Thursday, November 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (This should allow for most participants to be present at their display at various times during the event.)

Whether you have presented at a recent conference or have a project in progress or just getting underway, consider sharing your work at the LOTM Showcase. (Note that faculty may contribute more than one presentation.) The TLTC will again provide large format poster printing services for the LOTM Showcase (October 24 submission deadline for poster printing), and Grants Development Office staff can help facilitate a variety of presentation formats. The event will also include a “SUNY Oneonta Faculty Publications Exhibit” (a display area for books or other publications not suitable for a poster/computer presentation; limited to those published in the last two years).

The deadline for online submission of presentation information is Monday, October 17; visit to complete the Abstract Submission Form. Faculty who wish to display a book(s) or other publication(s) must also submit information via the online form; however, abstracts are not required.

The Community of Scholars Reception, held in conjunction with the LOTM, will follow the Faculty Showcase on Thursday, November 10 at 5:00 p.m. in Otsego Grille. Submit your 2015/16 publications, grant awards, and other significant scholarly work via the online survey by September 20 for consideration.

If you do not plan to be a LOTM VII presenter, please mark your calendars and plan to visit the Faculty Showcase to explore the wide range of scholarship and related activities from across the disciplines and to support your colleagues in their endeavors.

Feel welcome to contact the Grants Development Office ( x2632 or x2434) if you have questions regarding the LOTM VII Faculty Showcase. Visit the LOTM website ( often for updates!
