Snapper Petta Presents at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum

Snapper Petta was an invited presenter at the annual Abenaki Heritage event held the last weekend in June at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum in Vergennes, VT. His portrayal throughout the weekend was that of an 18th century French trader, sent from Montreal to trade with the local tribes. His presentation and display discussed various aspects of French/Abenaki interaction, ways of life and assimilation between the two cultures. This is the fifth year he has been invited to present at this event which typically draws over two hundred people to the shores of Vermont’s “great lake.”
