William Simons, History Department, delivered an invited lecture, “Where Have You Gone, Hank Greenberg: Baseball and the Ethnic Standard Bearer,” for the Men’s Fraternity, Brooksby Village, Peabody, Massachusetts, on June 18, 2016. A discussion and question-and-answer session followed his formal presentation.
Cynthia Falk, Cooperstown Graduate Program, spent June 10-18 in Azacualpa, Santa Barbara, Honduras, as a volunteer, part of a group of six from the United States. Her time there including working with the Mi Casa project to provide housing for community members, providing food for local children and families, and visiting area schools and churches. Her group stayed at the Honduras Children’s Home, which provides a home for nine Honduran children who are orphaned or separated from their families as well as short-term volunteers from the United States.
