History Department’s Awards & Phi Alpha Theta Inductions

The History Department’s Awards & Phi Alpha Theta Induction Ceremony was held Friday, April 29, 2016, at 3:00 pm in Le Café, Morris Conference Center.  The Department is pleased to announce the following.

Award recipients:  Jerrad Pacatte—Academic Achievement Award; Hunter Reed—Ethel Ray & Ada Crippen Award; Miles Jahnke—Redfield History Student Award; Sarah Coykendall—Sam Caplen History Service Award; and Madelyn Nicolini and Taylor Medici—Michael Wright Memorial Book Prizes.

Winners of the Maynard Redfield Essay Competition are:  Gabrielle Huther—Freshman/Intro. Essay, Miles Jahnke—Short Essay, Sam Benedict—Long Essay, and Jerrad Pacatte—Long Essay.  Honorable Mentions are:  Jennifer Southard—Freshman/Intro. Essay, Alexander Whittaker—Short Essay, and Hunter Reed—Long Essay.

New members inducted into SUNY Oneonta’s Alpha-Kappa-Iota chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, are:  Erynn Barber, Amanda Barbuto, Dominick Biolsi, Giovanna DiFilippo, Meagan Edwards, Gary Frank, Cristina Guadagnino, Matthew Hitchen, Samuel Kaufer, Lauren Kelly, Rachel Llanes, Michael Mangano, Jerrad Pacatte, Marina Pitonzo, Danielle Tribley, Kim-Lien Trotta, Alexander Whittaker, and Alexander Wynkoop.
