Reunion Weekend: Biggest Alumni Party of the Year!

The SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association invites the college community to Reunion Weekend 2016-the BIGGEST ALUMNI PARTY of the year! Beginning on Friday, June 3, alumni from all over the country will arrive in Oneonta to celebrate milestones, reconnect with their fraternity brothers or sorority sisters, or just to come back “home” and reminisce with friends. Events, including those that are family friendly, will be held on and off campus throughout the weekend.

William Simons, Colby Thomas & Dennis Banks serve as Program Series Panelists

William Simons, Professor, History, served as a panelist in The Guild of Glimmerglass Festival Talking Opera Program series, along with Professor Colby Thomas, Music, and Professor Dennis Banks, Secondary Education, on Monday, May 23, 2016, 7 PM, at the Christ Church Parish Hall, Cooperstown, New York. The panelists discussed Robert Ward’s opera The Crucible, which is based on Arthur Miller’s play of the same name.

Retirement Reception for Karen Welsh – May 31

After 40 years of service to the college, Karen Welsh, Secretary in the Department of Athletics will retire.  The Athletic Department has risen to national prominence in several sports under Karen’s day to day watch.  Her service to the college, coaching staff and student athletes has been 40 years of amazing. Please share in this special time by attending a reception in Karen’s honor on TUESDAY, MAY 31 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Alumni Field House Skybox.

Carol Dean and Students visit COIL Partners in Mexico City

Carol Dean, Secondary Education, and five of her Foreign Language Education students visited their COIL Partners at La Salle University in Mexico City in April, 2016. The trip was fully funded by a grant from Santander Bank, covering all travel, lodging and program costs for the students. They observed education and language classes, stayed with host families, and traveled to numerous cultural and historical sites. La Salle University featured the visit on their blog:
