The College at Oneonta Foundation (CF) Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creative Activity were established in 2011 to recognize and honor outstanding SUNY Oneonta students who conduct high-quality independent research and creative activity projects with faculty sponsorship. The CF will award prizes in the amount of $300 to five individual students who present work at the 2016 Student Research and Creative Activity (SRCA) Day on April 20. Faculty sponsors of prize winners will also each receive a $100 prize. Nominations from across the disciplines will be considered.
Nominations must be submitted online by Monday, April 4. Please note (below) the eligibility requirements for the awards.
- Students working solely on projects conducted as part of a class or coursework are NOT eligible.
- Only students recommended by a faculty sponsor via submission of the online form will be considered.
- The individual student nominee’s contribution to the project(s) must be clearly articulated in the faculty nomination.
- Student finalists must be present at SRCA Day (April 20) and be available to a review team to be eligible for consideration (specific times will be arranged in advance). Note: the nominee’s SRCA Day abstract will be added to the nomination for review/selection of finalists by Committee on Research members, and provided in advance to the SRCA Day judges.
Each of the five student prize winners will be expected to deliver a brief oral presentation at the April 27 (noon) Faculty Convivium; and all prize winners will be honored at the Academic Achievement Awards reception on May 4 (4:00 pm).
Please consider nominating your student(s) for these awards if they meet the eligibility criteria and you feel that their work is exceptional.
